NDIS Physio Sunshine Coast FAQs

What is NDIS physiotherapy and how does it work?

NDIS physiotherapy is physiotherapy funded through your National Disability Insurance Scheme plan. If your plan includes funding for Improved Daily Living or Improved Health and Wellbeing, you may be able to use those funds to see a registered NDIS physiotherapist. Your physio works with you and, where relevant, your support coordinator to set goals and deliver treatment within your plan budget.

Do I need a referral to see an NDIS physio at your Sippy Downs clinic?

You don’t need a GP referral to book a physiotherapy appointment, though a referral can be helpful if you’re seeking a Functional Capacity Assessment or coordinating care with your medical team. Simply contact our clinic and we’ll guide you through the next steps.

What is a Functional Capacity Assessment?

A Functional Capacity Assessment is a formal evaluation conducted by a qualified allied health professional that examines how your disability or condition affects your ability to carry out everyday activities. The report is used to support NDIS planning meetings and can help justify the level of funding you need. Our physiotherapists are experienced in completing these assessments.

How do I know if physiotherapy is included in my NDIS plan?

Review your plan to look for funding categories such as Improved Daily Living (Support Category 7) or Improved Health and Wellbeing (Support Category 8). If you’re unsure, contact your support coordinator or Local Area Coordinator, or call our clinic and we’ll help you work through it.

What does NDIS physiotherapy cost?

For eligible NDIS participants, physiotherapy is funded through your NDIS plan under the Improved Daily Living or Improved Health and Wellbeing support categories. We follow the NDIS Price Guide for all sessions and provide a Service Agreement at the start of your program so there are no surprises.
