1. Do I need any prior experience in Pilates or physiotherapy to participate?
No prior experience is needed to join our Pilates classes. If you haven’t done Pilates before, at your initial assessment your Physio will run you through common movements and exercises, which you can practice at home.
Additionally, during your class, our physios will ensure you feel confident and comfortable with the exercises to ensure they are safe and effective.
2. How long are the physiotherapist Pilates sessions?
Classes run for approximately 60 minutes.
3. What should I wear to a physiotherapist Pilates session?
Loose-fitting, flexible and comfortable clothes will be best.
4. How many people per class?
We can facilitate both small groups and one-on-one classes.
Our group classes have a maximum number of 8.
With small class sizes, you can expect individual attention as our friendly instructors assist you in perfecting each movement.
Our spacious and fully equipped studio provides a comfortable environment for you to embark on your Pilates journey.
The atmosphere is supportive yet challenging, allowing you to push yourself at your own pace while enjoying the camaraderie of fellow participants.
5. Are there age restrictions for participating in physio Pilates classes?
Anyone from 13 years of age or older can participate.
6. Can physio Pilates be used in conjunction with other fitness activities?
Pilates is a fantastic, low-impact conditioning tool that will assist with improving your health and wellbeing.
Additionally, Pilates will also have an excellent crossover benefit to any other exercise/sport you complete, as it improves your body’s strength and endurance, therefore reducing injury risk.
7. How often should I attend Physiotherapist Pilates classes?
We recommend at least one session per week for a minimum of 6 weeks for people starting out. Once you are experienced, most patients complete two sessions per week to assist with their strength and conditioning.
8. Can I book a private session with a physiotherapist for personalised guidance?
Yes! Our Physios are always available for one-on-one, 30-minute sessions.
9. How long does it take to see results from physiotherapist Pilates?
We recommend attending Pilates once a week, for a minimum of 6 weeks to see noticeable results.
10. Who is the physio Pilates run by?
All classes are run by our experienced physiotherapists at Noth West Physiotherapist, Everton Park.
This also allows patients to claim these classes under the Private Health Insurance (if applicable) as Group Physiotherapy (Code 560).
11. Will I need special equipment for rehab Pilates?
No equipment is required – we provide everything. We recommend bringing a water bottle and towel.
12. Is rehab Pilates covered by private health insurance?
Yes, physiotherapy Pilates is covered by most health insurances under the Group Physiotherapy code 560.
