What you need to know about our strength and balance classes
Our strength and balance classes last for 45 minutes and are held once a week. They are priced at $30 per class and can be reimbursed through private health insurance.
What to expect in a strength and balance class
At North West Physio Nundah, our strength and balance classes use a mix of resistance and weight-based training to progressively load and strengthen the major muscle groups that assist with everyday function. This is combined with static and dynamic balance drills that challenge the base of support in order to improve stability and confidence.
We love to keep the classes engaging by mixing up the exercises and equipment between classes.
Usually, we will do a block of similar exercises that get progressively more challenging over a 6-8 week period. Subsequently, a fresh series of workouts are scheduled and advanced, facilitating continuous enhancement of various muscle groups and ensuring the classes remain interesting.
We use various equipment in our classes, including dumbbells, barbells and weight plates, step-up boxes, foam balance pads and supportive benches, to name a few.
