What is a Physiotherapist?
We are pain and movement experts.
We’ll find out why you are in pain, help you get rid of pain as quickly as possible and get you back to doing the things you love, like Rugby. If you experience pain or have an injury, you can contact us for advice and reassurance of your injury and a plan to ensure you recover as quickly as possible.
We have an extensive understanding of the human body. We understand how everything connects and have the knowledge to get to the root cause of your pain and fix it for good. At North West Physiotherapy Eatons Hill our aim is not just to eliminate this episode of pain, but we want you to never be in pain again.
What can expect from your local physio?
At North West Physiotherapy Eatons Hill we are focused on providing hands-on, personalised treatment.
Your appointment is important to us and you will have our undivided attention to discuss any concerns, ask questions and develop a plan to get to the root cause of your pain and get rid of it for good.
We always aim to provide hands on treatment therapy at each appointment, and there would be very limited circumstances where we can’t offer our proven hands-on techniques to start your recovery that day.
We take a holistic approach to treatment and do our best to develop a plan that fits in with your lifestyle.
Most of all, we care. Your goals are our goals.
Special Offers for the Albany Creek Crushers

- $50 appointments all season long
- Blogs (like this one) with education specific to you
How can a physiotherapist help me?
If you are an athlete there is no bad time to get in touch with one of our Physiotherapist’s. Here are a few scenarios of when you might like to visit us:
-
Prevention [always better than cure]
Our Physiotherapist’s at Eatons Hill can complete a top to toe “screening” of you.
These screenings are a baseline data collection that can detect early evidence of physical deficiencies. We can use this invaluable information to create a tailored strength and conditioning plan to have you at peak fitness for the game. It will also put you in the best shape to avoid pain and injury throughout the season.
Not everyone has a markable “deficiency” though, and even if this is the case for you, we would still strongly recommend specific strength and conditioning training to be incorporated into your weekly training regime.
Run into any Brisbane Bronco’s player and “Pilates” (or similar) will be at the top of their training plan. These types of exercises, and strength and conditioning plans, put you in peak physical condition for the game you love! Our Physio’s can tailor a specific exercise plan to strengthen all the right areas, safely and easily at home.
Finally, we have plenty of information to share on stretching, foam rolling, strapping, and the list goes on to ensure your pain is well managed.

Injury Management
Sometimes, for no explainable reason, you get unlucky on the field and injure yourself. Hopefully a medic or sports trainer is available to provide immediate advice to assist with what needs to happen then and there.
Statistics tell me if it’s “bad” enough you’ll end up in the emergency waiting room where they will do their best to provide immediate temporary assistance to:
- Get you out of pain [drugs],
- Make sure your injury is supported [sling, cast, crutches etc], and
- Send you home with a fact sheet so you can google away on what to do next.
Or, you’ll head home and “tough it out” and see what things look like the next day after swelling goes down and the immediate acute pain has lessened.
In either scenario, this is when you should get in touch with us.
As stated earlier, here at North West Physiotherapy we are experts in pain and movement. We have seen these types of injuries (and fixed them) our whole career. We are the right people to assist you in your road to recovery and provide you with comfort, support and advice. Plus, any resources you need (correctly fitted crutches, braces, strapping, bandages etc) we have or can get in quickly.
We have Physio’s available 24/7 to discuss your pain or injury. Direct message our Facebook page, or if within business hours call the clinic to speak to a Physio in our team. We are here to help and are truly passionate about supporting you back to full health.

Rehabilitation
Often after an injury your GP or specialist will recommend you seek the advice of a Physiotherapist to understand the correct steps to aid recovery. In these sessions we provide hands-on treatment, exercise prescription for recovery and most importantly advice on exercise and movements you MUST avoid so that your recovery is not hindered. Every person recovers differently and all advice is tailored to you.
- For maintenance
A lot of people attend our clinic on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis to check in with their Physiotherapist and have them attend to any minor aches or pains before they flare up. This type of service is available to anyone, however is most often utilised by people 45 and over as a form of maintenance to prevent pain and injuries flaring up.
Dry-needling is another popular service we offer that people like us to include in a maintenance treatment. Discuss this option with your Physiotherapist to know if it could help you.
-
For the “once over”
Similar to the maintenance service above, some people attend for the “once over” before or after a physically straining event to help reduce pain. This could be after a game or a big week of training and games. Physiotherapist’s use their hands/elbows to pinpoint the correct area of muscle or soft tissue that requires stimulation to reduce pain. This helps immensely with “Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness [DOMS]” which we will provide further information on in our coming articles.
This is the treatment you see professional athletes receiving during/after their big games.
